DLE 2009 Seattle Archives

HP, Intel, and their partners  joined forces with Tech & Learning to bring you the new 2009 Digital Learning Environment event in the Seattle area. This unique interactive forum was a one-day event held throughout the United States.

This Digital Learning Environment event was an immersion experience that provided K-12 decision-makers with state-of-the-art technology solutions delivered in hands-on lab environments. Divided by curriculum area, the lab environments were part of this unique forum where attendees were invited to be students for the day and experience authentic and compelling standards-based learning moments. They learned how technology-rich learning environments enrich students’ learning experiences and help them achieve.

Barbara Grohe


As superintendent of the fourth largest school district in Washington State, she provides leadership for over 26,000 students and 3,100 staff. Prior to coming to Kent she served as superintendent in Shorewood, Wisconsin and Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Grohe was the 1998 National Superintendent of the Year. Grohe earned a bachelor's degree from Clarion State College in Pennsylvania, a master's degree from Ohio University, and a doctorate in urban education from the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She and her husband Joe have two married children and three grandchildren.
