Free. Fun. Inspiring. Join us Online During the HP Innovations in Education Worldwide Summit 22-24 Feb
by Jim Vanides
You’re invited – virtually! HP, in collaboration with the International Society for Technology in Education, invites educators around the world to participate remotely in the 2010 HP Innovations in Education Worldwide Summit. I hope you can join us - let me tell you how...
As part of my responsibilities in the HP Office of Global Social Innovation (what I affectionately refer to as "coporate philanthropy version 3.0"), I organize a convening of HP grant recipients from around the world. It's a professional networking and professional development experience that aims to accelerate the success of our new grant recipients.
This year, more than 100 educators from 60 higher education and 20 secondary education institutions in 23 countries, will be attending the summit in person as part of their 2009 HP Innovations in Education grant. The event is scheduled for 22-24 February and includes opportunities to learn from education experts and innovation thought leaders such as Michael Horn (co-author of “Disrupting Class”), Georges Haddad (UNESCO), Phil McKinney (HP Innovation “guru” www.philmckinney.com), David Williamson Schaffer (www.epistemicgames.org), …and students as they discuss how social media impacts their learning experience.
This year, we're opening the "virtual" doors to remote participants. You can join the excitement by participating in interactive webcasts, a virtual poster session contest, and following the event on Twitter (#hpiie). To participate, visit the Summit community at www.hpiie.org to download details about the speakers and the agenda. Instructions for remote participation will be available by the 15th of February.
I hope to "see" you there!
