    Compare and contrast with Newseum

Newseum, “the world’s most interactive museum“, has a wonderful idea that brings tremendous value to literacy, social studies, current events, and just about any subject that gets reported as front page news ever!

  • A new tool for student projects that are xtranormal

Xtranormal's motto is "If you can type, you can make movies" and they're not exaggerating. Students can use this tool to create beautifully animated movies out of their writing projects, stories, scripts, and poems.

  • Inspiration for your classroom blog

Now that blogs are being accepted by most as a bona-fide teaching tool, I'm getting asked more and more for examples of great classroom blogs. By my own standards, my examples usually fall short though -- finding a good classroom blog that takes it to the next level and is current is not so easy. In this entry I will highlight a classroom blog that exceeds my expectations and serves as inspiration for every educator.

  • Google’s Form tool is a treasure trove of educational gold!!

Just immersed myself in Google Forms and am extremely impressed with how much value it brings to the Google Apps suite for educators. With Google Forms, you have an easy to use data collection tool that can be used for surveying parents, students, and teachers. The data is dumped directly into a Google Spreadsheet and can be manipulated, graphed, and configured to meet varied needs. It can even be used to deliver simple online assessments!

  • Overcoming the email obstacle for student Google Docs accounts

We love Google Docs, yes we do, we love Google Docs, how about you? With the ability for real-time online collaboration from any web-enabled machine, Google Docs creates so many new opportunities for collaboration, peer review, project based learning, and file sharing / storage. I’m recommending that every educator put this tool in their toolbelt and imagine how it can transform what they do.
