Part III and IV: Tools for Engaging All Learners in the Classroom
by Grant Zimmerman
I hope you had a chance to peruse the videos from my post two weeks ago. This link, http://guide2digitallearning.com/blog_grant_zimmerman/free_microsoft_tools_engage_your_students, will take you there if you want to view Module I and Module II of Tools for Engaging All Learners in the Classroom. Remember, these tools from Microsoft® are free and specifically designed for teachers wanting to learn how to develop rich and academically challenging units. Grab some friends and produce your own workshop. Check with your district first about earning CEU's.
This is the time to make the leap and take the high road to engaging all of your students. This class, developed by Knowledge Network Solutions for Microsoft ® Corporation, uses innovative tools by Microsoft that capitalize on the curricular goals and learning objectives. Students actively engage their mind and build skills as they use the tools to create authentic products or performances.
For technology coordinators and lead teachers, deliver the coursework during a full day’s workshop. The class files, manual, videos, and presentation PowerPoint can be found and downloaded free at Partners in Learning Network, http://us.partnersinlearningnetwork.com. Sign in with your Windows Live ID, click on Community, and select Microsoft Teacher Professional Development.
The four videos present information about the class, Tools for Engaging All Learners in the Classroom:
1. Workshop Introduction
2. Workshop Learning Objectives
3. Workshop Preparation (full screen video at http://vimeo.com/7703322)
4. Workshop Tips and Tricks (full screen video at http://vimeo.com/7721713)
The final two videos show you how to prepare for the delivery of the workshop ideas and some tips and tricks that will make the learning successful. These classes can also be used for individual study. Check with your district office about earning CEU credits for both your individual study and workshop presentations. This workshop should earn a minimum of 30 hours of credit.
