My Most Favorite Button in Office 2010
by Grant Zimmerman
Face it—we all have chores to do. While I was working this
morning on the mundane chore of folding my shirts, I thought about how simple the Flipfold® made the task of creating a professionally folded shirt. Microsoft has created a similar tool in the newest Office™ 2010 Suite. For me, the addition of the Screenshot Task to the Insert Tab in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is the FlipFold (and my most favorite) Office 2010 tool. What was once only available on the ribbon in OneNote is now in all of the most used Office 2010 solutions.
Picture When you click the Screenshot Task button, you can insert the entire page or a smaller, defined clipping of the page. Windows that have not been minimized are displayed in the Screenshot>Available Windows box. Clicking on one of the windows promptly inserts the window image into your document. You can also choose to capture a Screen Clipping of the last open window. This option works the save way Screen Clipping does in Office 2007. When Screen Clipping is selected, the previous window becomes temporarily “frosted over.” Using the cross hair and the left mouse button, define the area you want clipped. Gone are the days of maneuvering between Prt Scr, or a snipping tool to capture screen images. This feature is truly the Flipfold® of Office 2010.
